On February 10, 2012, Vice Premier Li Keqiang met with visiting Singaporean Minister for Foreign Affairs and Law K. Shanmugam in Ziguangge, Zhongnanhai.

During the meeting, Li said China and Singapore are close neighbors. He hailed the development of bilateral ties since the establishment of diplomatic ties 22 years ago, saying the two states have successfully combined their development strategies to realize a "win-win situation." China is willing to work with Singapore to strengthen multiple-level exchanges and contacts in all areas, further improve cooperation layout and actively promote the economic, trade and humanities cooperation so as to push bilateral ties to a higher level.

China and Singapore have maintained sound coordination and cooperation on international affairs, which has contributed to peace, stability and development in Asia, Li said. China will stick to the path of peaceful development and will work with Singapore and other countries in the region to deepen cooperation, expand common interests and realize common prosperity, Li noted.

K. Shanmugam said Singapore attaches great importance to its relations with China and will expand and deepen bilateral pragmatic cooperation in order to develop firm and reliable bilateral ties. Singapore will also maintain close contact and coordination with China on international and regional issues of common concern, he said.
