On October 24, 2023, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi had a group meeting in Beijing with foreign guests attending the International Symposium to Commemorate the 10th Anniversary of China's Principle of Amity, Sincerity, Mutual Benefit and Inclusiveness in Neighborhood Diplomacy.

Wang Yi said that ten years ago today, President Xi Jinping expounded with authority China's neighborhood diplomacy, and solemnly put forth the important principle featuring amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness on the basis of strengthening friendship and partnership with its neighbor and seeking an amicable, secure and prosperous neighborhood, which inherits China's tradition of treating neighbors with sincerity, benevolence and kindness, and keeping pace with times, and adds new rich dimensions to the neighborhood diplomacy. Over the past ten years, President Xi Jinping personally planned and practiced neighborhood diplomacy, promoting China's relations with neighboring countries to a new level and cooperation to yield new outcomes. Political mutual trust between the two sides has been further strengthened, mutually beneficial cooperation has brought tangible benefits, and the drive of regional integration has been continuously advanced. China and more than 10 neighboring countries have agreed to build a bilateral community with a shared future, which has been the forerunner in the historical process of advancing a human community with a shared future worldwide. China and its neighboring countries have been each other's major trading partner and important source of investment, and development cooperation has demonstrated tremendous potential and broad space.

Wang Yi said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, the vision of a human community with a shared future, and the principle of neighborhood diplomacy featuring amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness put forth by President Xi Jinping, and is of significant importance. China will follow the guidance of President Xi Jinping's important thoughts and concepts and take the opportunity of Belt and Road cooperation ushering into a new stage of high-quality development, to continuously deepen friendship and mutual trust with its neighboring countries, safeguard the overall peace, stability and development in the region, join hands in advancing the overall modernization in Asia, and build an Asian home with a shared future and common prosperity.

Participating representatives spoke highly of the great relevance and practical value of the principle featuring amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness, and highly appreciated China's adherence to the policy of good neighborliness and friendship, which has demonstrated equality, respect, openness and inclusiveness, and promoted exchanges, connectivity and common development. All parties said that in the face of current various global challenges such as geopolitics, climate response, and health and environment, neighboring countries need more than ever before to strengthen solidarity and cooperation. A series of global initiatives put forward by China has provided new thoughts for advancing globalization and sharing development outcomes, and brought new opportunities to neighboring countries. Participating representatives said that their countries are ready to work with China to adhere to good neighborliness and friendship, mutual benefit and win-win results, actively participate in high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and jointly safeguard regional peace, stability, development and prosperity.
