On October 24, 2023, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi attended the opening ceremony of the International Symposium to Commemorate the 10th Anniversary of China's Principle of Amity, Sincerity, Mutual Benefit and Inclusiveness in Neighborhood Diplomacy in Beijing.

Wang Yi said, "mutual benefit" in the Principle of Amity, Sincerity, Mutual Benefit and Inclusiveness is how we collaborate, and has brought practical cooperation to new levels. In carrying out cooperation with neighboring countries, China is committed to the principle of mutual benefit and the sharing of development results. Belt and Road cooperation was proposed by China and its implementation started with neighboring countries. In the past decade, regional countries have come on board Belt and Road cooperation one after another. Negotiations on the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area 3.0 are expedited. A large batch of major projects, including the China-Central Asia natural gas pipeline, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and the China-Malaysia "Two Countries, Twin Parks," are forming a demonstration effect. The China-Laos railway has realized local people's dream to turn Laos from a land-locked to a land-linked country, and the commissioning of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, is like wings to soar for the local economy. China has become a major trading partner and an important source of investment for Asian countries. For three years in a row, China and ASEAN have remained each other's largest trading partner with two-way trade more than doubled over the past 10 years. The countries in the region reached the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and established the world's largest free trade area with the greatest potential, setting an example of cooperation amid headwinds against globalization.
