Xi Jinping Meets with Presidents of Senate and the House of Representative of the Netherlands

On March 24 local time, President Xi Jinping met in The Hague with President of the Dutch Senate Ankie Broekers-Knol and President of the House of Representatives Anouchka van Miltenburg.

Xi Jinping pointed out, the exchanges between legislative bodies are an important part of China-Netherlands relations. China is willing to strengthen the exchanges with the Dutch parliament and the political parties on the basis of mutual respect. Hope that the two sides will have in-depth dialogue and communication on the important topics concerning the national economy and people's livelihood in accordance with their own domestic development needs, providing a solid law base for the bilateral exchanges and cooperation. The Dutch parliament is reviewing a new policy document on China submitted by the Dutch government, which believed to be a future-oriented document that adds vitality and impetus to the bilateral relations. Hope the Dutch parliament will continue its positive role in promoting the development of an open and practical China-Netherlands comprehensive cooperative partnership.

Ankie Broekers-Knol and Anouchka van Miltenburg said that the Netherlands and China enjoy time-honored friendship, with fruitful bilateral cooperation. The Netherlands is glad to see that its science and technology, as well as technologies and experience in agriculture and water conservancy, can play a positive role in China's modernization construction. President Xi Jinping's visit to the Netherlands is an historical event which goes a long way in promoting the bilateral relationship. The Dutch parliament is willing to strengthen exchanges with the China's National People's Congress, making new contributions to the development of the bilateral relationship.
