Xi Jinping Makes Instruction on Immediately Sending Special Envoy of the Chinese Government to Malaysia to Handle the Incident of Loss of Contact of the Malaysia Airlines Flight

On March 25 local time, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), President of China and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, very much worries about the safety of the passengers including Chinese citizens aboard the missing Malaysia Airlines flight. He has closely followed the updates of the search and rescue operations during his visit abroad, and made relevant deployment. On March 24, based on the latest updates of the search and rescue operations, Xi Jinping instructed to send a special envoy of the Chinese government to Malaysia to consult with the Malaysian side, to learn more about the relevant information and to urge the Malaysian side to well manage the relevant issues. Xi Jinping required the Chinese departments concerned to assist the Malaysian side and all others to continue the search and rescue operations, and to well organize all the relevant works.

Zhang Yesui, Special Envoy of the Chinese government and Vice Foreign Minister, will leave for Malaysia soon.
