On March 9, 2014, Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah met with Ambassador Wu Sike, the Special Envoy of China on the Middle East Issue, at the Prime Minister's Office in Ramallah. Both sides focused their in-depth discussion on how to further develop the bilateral cooperative relations.

Wu Sike said that China and Palestine enjoy profound traditional friendship. In recent years, both countries have witnessed the deepening of mutual political trust and the steady advancing of practical cooperation in various fields. Last year, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas paid a successful visit to China, and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Palestine at the end of the year, which vigorously boosted the development of bilateral relations. China is willing to make joint efforts with the Palestinian side to make greater strides in strengthening pragmatic cooperation and push China-Palestine relations to a new level.

Rami Hamdallah thanked the Chinese government and the people for the long-term support and help to Palestine in various areas. He stressed that the Palestinian people hold deep feelings towards China. Hamdallah expressed that he is glad to see the rapid development of the bilateral economic and trade relations in recent years, and hoped that China can be more active joining in Palestine's infrastructure construction and continue to provide help to Palestine in personnel training and other fields.
