Vice Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping Holds Consultations with Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan

On March 6, 2014, Vice Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping held consultations with Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister Samat Ordabayev on bilateral relations and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) affairs in Astana.

Both sides agreed to comprehensively implement a series of important cooperative consensus reached by the Presidents and Premiers of the two countries, to continue the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership, to strengthen high-level exchanges, to enhance political mutual trust, to carry out consultations at all levels and to deepen cooperation in all fields, so as to push for new outcomes of the bilateral relations.

Both sides agreed that all parties concerned should respect the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity of all countries including Ukraine, and oppose the external forces intervening in the internal affairs of others and the extreme and violent acts. The relevant divergences should be solved peacefully through dialogues and consultations under the framework of constitutions of all countries and the international law, and on the basis of fully respecting the legitimate interests and concerns of all parties concerned, so as to safeguard peace, security and stability of the region and the world at large.

Kazakh President Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev and Foreign Minister Erlan Abilfayizuly Idrisov met respectively with Vice Minister Cheng Guoping.
