It is reported that a Boeing 777 passenger plane (MH370) of Malaysia Airlines departing Kuala Lumpur for Beijing at 00:42 am, March 8, Beijing time, lost contact with the air traffic control department in the control area of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam at 01:20am. At the same time, the radar signal of the plane disappeared. So far, there is no information about the plane entering into China's airspace or contacting the Chinese air traffic control department. There are about 160 Chinese citizens among the passengers on board. As soon as being informed, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs immediately activated its emergency response mechanism, requiring the Chinese Embassies in Malaysia and Vietnam, Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City and other Embassies and Consulates in the countries involved to find out the situation, and urged the host countries making all-out efforts to search for the missing plane and passengers. The Chinese Embassies in Malaysia and Vietnam, as well as the Chinese Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City promptly activated emergency mechanisms, and set up the emergency response team, starting their work. The Chinese Foreign Ministry and relevant Embassies and Consulates overseas are paying close attention to the progress of the incident and working for relevant management.
