In the evening of March 4, 2014, Foreign Minister Wang Yi held telephone talks with French Minister of Foreign Affairs Laurent Fabius. They exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine.

Both sides stated their own position. They agreed that efforts should be made to seek a political resolution of the Ukrainian crisis and effectively safeguard regional peace and stability. The two sides also agreed to keep contacts on this issue.
