On February 22, 2014, Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin met with ROK Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se during his visit to the ROK. Liu said that the China-ROK relationship for 2014 should be properly planned and achieve greater progress on the basis of last year's development. Both sides can learn from each other's development experiences, strengthen pragmatic cooperation, and do a good job in people-to-people and cultural exchanges to continue to enhance the sentiments between the two countries and the two peoples and promote bilateral and regional prosperity and development. Yun Byung-se said that the ROK attaches great importance to the China-ROK relations, the bilateral relations are in the best period of history at present, and the ROK is willing to work with China to continuously enrich the connotations of the bilateral strategic cooperative partnership in various fields and benefit the two countries and the two peoples.

The two sides agreed to maintain close communications between the two foreign ministries, advance and safeguard the peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula, restart the Six-Party Talks as soon as possible, and advance the process of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
