Both sides should make joint efforts to well implement the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Barack Obama on the construction of the new model of major-country relations between China and the US, maintain close high-level exchanges and strategic communications, do a good job for the China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogue and other mechanisms, strengthen cooperation at bilateral, regional and global levels, truly respect and care about each other's core interests and major concerns, properly handle differences and disputes, and push China-US relations towards a new greater development.

On Syria issue, Yang Jiechi pointed out that a political settlement is the fundamental way out for the Syria crisis. The international community should continue to mediate between the Syrian government and the opposition side, promote and maintain the momentum of negotiations, and continually accumulate consensus. Hope the relevant parties fulfil their promises, remain patience, show flexibility, maintain and advance the momentum of dialogue, consolidate the fruits of the first stage, and keep moving towards the goal of a comprehensive, long-term and proper settlement of Iran nuclear issue.

John Kerry said that the US appreciates China's constructive role in Syria, Iran nuclear and other issues, and is willing to continue the communications and cooperation with China.
