Yang Jiechi Holds Telephone Talks with Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh of Vietnam

In the morning of January 30, 2014, State Councilor Yang Jiechi held telephone talks with Vietnamese Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.

Yang Jiechi noted, China-Vietnam relationship now enjoys positive momentum for development. A few days ago, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee held telephone talks with Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee. They reached important consensus on deepening China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperation for the next stage. The related departments of both sides should well implement the important consensus, work together to prepare for high-level exchanges within the year, ensure success of the Seventh Steering Committee Meeting on China-Vietnam Cooperation and push for more outcomes of bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperation in all fields.

Pham Binh Minh expressed that Vietnam highly values its relations with China and is ready to work closely with China to effectively implement the important consensus between the leaders of both parties and countries so as to push for more and greater development of the relations between the two parties and the two countries.

Pham Binh Minh invited Yang Jiechi to co-chair the Seventh Steering Committee Meeting on Vietnam-China Cooperation in Vietnam at the earliest date possible and Yang expressed his gratitude.
