Head of the Government Abdelilah Benkirane of Morocco Meets with Wang Yi

On December 23, 2013, Head of the Government Abdelilah Benkirane of Morocco met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Rabat.

Benkirane expressed, Morocco has always held friendly feelings towards China, reveres China's ancient civilization and admires China's development achievements. Morocco-China relations are with a sound foundation and the cooperation with China is of great significance to Morocco. Morocco is committed to establishing strategic partnership with China and to deepening practical cooperation. Morocco hopes that China will help Morocco to strengthen its development capacity, invest more in Morocco, transfer more technologies to Morocco, join in infrastructure construction in Morocco and carry out industrial cooperation with Africa and Europe.

Wang Yi expressed, this year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of China-Morocco diplomatic relationship and is a year linking the past to the future. Facing the future, China and Morocco should turn political mutual trust into the driving force for practical cooperation, explore new ways of cooperation and open up new prospects of cooperation to achieve common development. Both sides should expand bilateral trade and investment, implement the agreement for the avoidance of double taxation and discuss and sign investment protection agreement and bilateral free trade agreement at the appropriate time. China is ready to leverage advantages to actively join in Morocco's infrastructure construction. To work together for exploring cooperation with Africa in the south and with Europe in the north by using Morocco's geographical advantages. Based on realizing mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and official passports, to further explore measures for facilitating bilateral personnel exchanges so as to facilitate expansion of two-way tourism.
