Zhang Dejiang Meets with Marshal of Senate of Poland

In the afternoon of December 17, 2013, Zhang Dejiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), met at the Great Hall of the People with Bogdan Borusewicz, the Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland.

Zhang Dejiang said, in recent years, especially since the establishment of strategic partnership in 2011, China and Poland have made impressive achievements in cooperation. It has brought tangible benefits to both peoples. Both sides should adhere to the principles of mutual respect and equality, enhance political mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and seize the opportunity of China-CEEC strategic cooperation to promote new development of China-Poland cooperation. The NPC of China is ready, based on the existing sound cooperation, to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Senate and the Sejm of Poland, to carry out multi-level and multi-channel friendly exchanges, to learn from each other, to exchange views on issues of mutual interest including economic development, construction of democracy and legal system and to promote mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, local contacts, people-to-people and cultural exchanges so as to push for unceasing development of China-Poland strategic partnership.

Borusewicz congratulated the successful landing of China’s "Chang'e-3" probe on the lunar surface. He expressed wishes that the Parliaments of the two countries will continue enhancing exchanges to inject fresh vitality into the development of Poland-China relations.
