On June 3, 2013, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui and First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kyou-hyun of ROK held the sixth high-level strategic dialogue between the foreign ministries of China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) in Beijing.

Zhang Yesui said that the state leaders of China and the ROK highly value the bilateral friendly cooperation. The Chinese side attaches great importance to the upcoming state visit by President Park Geun-hye of ROK to China. China is ready to work with the ROK to ensure the success of the visit and to push for greater development of bilateral relations.

Zhang Yesui said that China takes a firm stand on denuclearization as well as peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula. China persists in seeking a solution through dialogue and consultation. China takes a positive attitude towards President Park Geun-hye's proposal of pushing forward a process of trust-building on the Korean Peninsula and supports the improvement of relations between the ROK and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). All parties concerned should actively carry out consultations to create conditions for early resumption of the Six-Party Talks and work together to safeguard peace and stability on the Peninsula and to push for early turnaround of the situation.
