Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Kunsheng Invites Diplomats of Latin American and Caribbean Countries to Visit Beijing Aerospace City

On December 5, 2011, Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Kunsheng invited diplomats of Latin American and Caribbean countries to Beijing Aerospace City to visit the Fifth Aerospace Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the Resource Satellite Application Center, satellite communication ground stations and other units and technical facilities.

Zhang said that the aerospace technology is developing rapidly worldwide and boasts the most advanced and state-of-the-art area of technological progress of mankind. China’s aerospace undertaking has and will continue to make contributions to peacefully using the outer space and promoting human progress. The aerospace cooperation between China and Latin America is rising and can become a new direction for the bilateral cooperation to move forward.

The foreign diplomats spoke highly of the aerospace technology achievements and development of aerospace undertaking of China. They said that the visit enabled them to understand China’s aerospace industry better. They are willing to make joint efforts with the Chinese foreign ministry and the aerospace authorities to build a new bridge of friendship in the vast space between the two sides so as to bring benefit to the people.

Director-General of the Department of Latin American Affairs Yang Wanming and 13 diplomats of Latin American and Caribbean countries participated in the visit.
