BEIJING, Nov. 28
(Xinhuanet) -- China's Taiwan Affairs Office of the State
Council Friday reiterated its stand on the "referendum
legislation" in Taiwan.
"We are deeply concerned about relev ant
things concerning 'referendum legislation' in Taiwan and are
paying close attention to the development of the
issue," said a spokesman for the office.
"Our attitude toward the (Taiwan)
issue is quite clear," the spokesman said. "There
is only one China in the world and Taiwan is an inalienable
part of China's sacred territory. China's sovereignty and
territorial integrity cannot be separated."
"China opposes any
person who carries out splitting activities by means of
'referendum legislation' or 'Taiwan independence'," the
spokesman said, adding that any attempt to separate Taiwan
from China will not be tolerated absolutely.
